It also opens an important conversation with governments about the value that civic engagement has in promoting transparency, participation and accountability in education. In order to shift this paradigm, teachers and administrators must be open to change. Teachers, schools, and policymakers can use different strategies to incorporate student perspectives and empower students to lead.
